Sassy banner ad for Petite Sophisticate also sports strong offer

This 728x90 leaderboard on the Knoxville News Sentinel website for Petite Sophisticate sports a clean look, smartly dressed, and attractive models. No doubt the online banner will get lots of looks. But it's the offer-- a whopping 40% off all bottoms-- that will get women to click and shop.

Tell me more about Calgary's International Children's Festival

Blue sky with puffy clouds, a young person kicking up their heels in a pair of green sneakers. The image makes me stop and look at this ad for Calgary's International Children's Festival.
What's it all about?
The ad tells us Tickets are on sale, dates and such.
Probably most in Calgary are familiar with this annual performing arts festival. The rest of us are left flipping the page. Curiosity took me to the web so I could learn more about the event. It sounds like a lot of family fun: arts, music, comedy and hands on experiences.
This newspaper ad needs to do more story telling.

Cute little girls tug at mom's purse strings

Benjamin Moore Paint hits the hearts of moms with this full color newspaper ad in the Vancouver (Canada) Sun spotlighting a pair of cute and feisty female preschoolers. The ad message is simple: color your walls with rebellion. Mom's will get the message. Dad's may wonder what's the fuss. I think it's fun.

Golf Town print ad offers $50 gift card

Golfers will stop and look at this ad in the news pages of the Vancouver (Canada) Sun. And those ready to buy new irons may be tempted to buy from Golf Town instead of another store with this extra incentive: Free $50 Gift Card.
But the ad scores a bogey by forcing print readers to go to the web to find the location nearest you. Make it convenient: add a phone number or addresses.

Unique camera angle for this robotic surgery banner

Playing off the lens of microscopic surgery this 300x250 banner in the St. Petersburg Times (Fl) website draws plenty of eyeballs. Standing amidst his high tech tools is Dr. Vipul Patel inviting you to find out how he can treat prostate cancer with fewer complications. Answers are just a click away. Very creative layout and graphic.

NY Car Dealer Crushes the Competiton

Koeppel Mazda makes a bold statement, then backs it up with this newspaper display ad in the New York Daily News.
Koeppel Crushes the Competition, any vehicle $99 per month. Can they do that?
Apparently. The ad offers 7 examples, each with a lease payment of $99 per month. What a deal.
I like this ad-- for its clean look and amazing offers.

Boscov's shopping pass makes it easy

What does it take to get customers to shop you store? 5%, 10% discounts? That barely covers the sales tax.
20%? Now you're talking. Boscov's Department Store offered a March Shopping Pass so shoppers could take an extra 20% off many items in the store. This single frame 300x250 banner on the Baltimore Sun's website got my attention. Like many others I clicked to see the coupon for details.
Boscov's offer lets the shopper decide what to buy. It puts everything in the store on sale (with certain restrictions of course).

Denver Nuggets offer too good to refuse

Basketball fans in Denver probably can't resist this offer in the Denver Post for a chance to win a player's salary for a day. The sweepstakes offer was part of a display ad in the paper targeting Nuggets fans for $10 game day tickets to the game with Golden State. Can't say the ad design is very impressive, but the offer is as strong as any. It's a great third party promotion with Kia in on the deal.
